Municipal Physics Olympiad. All-Russian Physics Olympiad for Schoolchildren

Starting from the XI All-Union Olympiad, not only theoretical, but also experimental problems were included in the program of competitions in physics.

The first chairman of the Central Organizing Committee was Academician IK Kikoin. Since 1988, the Central Organizing Committee was headed by corresponding member. RAS, rector of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology N.V. Karlov.

For the organization of All-Union Olympiads and the development of methodological materials at the Central Organizing Committee, Methodological Commissions on subjects were created, led by scientists, professors of universities. The Central Subject-Methodological Commission is currently headed by Vice-Rector of MIPT A.A.Voronov, until 2015 was headed by Professor of MIPT S.M. Kozel.

For the final, All-Russian, stage of the Olympiad, students are selected who have shown the best results at the previous stages. According to the Regulations on the All-Russian Olympiad, the following are held: school, municipal (district, district) and regional (regional or territorial, in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sevastopol - city) stages. Also, until 2008, the federal district stage was held (earlier, in the USSR, called zonal and held in 4 zones of the RSFSR, which did not include Moscow and St. Petersburg) in 7 districts: North-West region, Central, Volga, Ural, Siberian , Far East, Yuzhny, as well as in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

State of the art

All-Union Olympiads were held until the beginning of the 90s of the XX century, while the All-Russian Olympiad was then considered a zonal tour of the RSFSR. The last XXV All-Union Physics Olympiad was held in 1991 in Tashkent. The XXVI Olympiad, held in April 1992 on the basis of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (Dolgoprudny), was called Inter-republican. In May 1992, the State Committee of the Russian Federation on Public Education made a decision in the future, on the same organizational principles, on which the All-Union Olympiads were previously held, to hold the All-Russian Olympiads. Thus, the All-Russian Olympiad in Physics, which is currently being held, has become the successor to the All-Union Olympiad. This is reflected in the serial numbers of the All-Russian Olympiads:

  • XXVII All-Russian Olympiad (Zerkalny settlement, Leningrad region, 1993);
  • XXVIII All-Russian Olympiad (Tula, 1994);
  • XXIХ All-Russian Olympiad (Chelyabinsk, 1995);

Olympiad format

School and municipal stages

The Olympiad starts from the school stage in the 1st quarter. The task of the school stage usually contains 5 theoretical problems and is developed by the municipal subject-methodological committee. The school stage of the Olympiad is usually checked by school teachers. This is followed by the municipal stage, to which participants who have gained the required number of points at the school stage are invited. The set of tasks for the municipal stage also contains 5 theoretical tasks, but 1 experimental task is allowed.

Regional stage

The municipal stage is followed by a regional stage, to which students from all over the region are invited who have scored the required number of points at the municipal stage. Tasks for the regional stage are already drawn up by the Central Subject-Methodological Committee (TsPMK) for physics, and they are the same for the whole country. The regional stage consists of 2 rounds: a theoretical round and an experimental round (if an experiment is a rarity for the municipal stage, then an experiment is always present at the regional stage). The difference between the rounds is exactly 2 days, the first is a theoretical round, containing exactly 5 problems and lasting 5 hours (until 2010, 9 classes had 4 problems), and after 2 days an experimental round is held, containing exactly 2 practical problems and lasting 5 hours: 2 hours and 20 minutes per task, as well as 20 minutes for a break to change equipment. This is followed by a test of the Olympiad. The Olympiad is checked by a regional jury according to unified criteria developed at the TsPMK, and can last either less than a day or a week. After checking the Olympiad, an appeal is required, at which the student may disagree with the score given to him and prove that the scores given do not fully meet the assessment criteria, after which the score is corrected and entered into the final protocol. The regional stage of the All-Union School of Physics is held in the second half of January.

The final stage

The Olympiad ends annually with a final stage. In mid-February, the TsPMK gets access to the protocols of the regional stage of all regions, after which it determines the passing points for the final stage and announces them in late February - early March.

Passing points for the final stage of the All-School School in Physics:

The final stage is usually held in the first half of April on six days. The opening of the Olympiad is held on the first day. From the second to the fourth days, experimental and then theoretical rounds are held, containing the same number of problems as at the regional stage. On the fifth day, an appeal is held and the winners and awardees of the Olympiad are determined. The final day of the Olympiad - closing and rewarding. It should be noted that the prize-winners and winners of the final stage are invited next year to the final stage, regardless of the results of the regional stage. The same is true for the regional and municipal stages - the winners and prize-winners of the respective stages are invited to them next year without selection.

RTC "Mega-Talent" organizes all-Russian and international distance Olympiads. Pupils of grades 7-11 and students of I-II courses of secondary educational institutions participate in our physics Olympiads. All participants in the Olympiads receive certificates or diplomas. We give testimonies and gratitude to teachers.

Distance Olympiads from the "Mega-Talent" RTC

Distance Olympiads "Mega-Talent" are held for a wide range of schoolchildren and students. We help excellent students to reveal their potential, and we give children with a lower level of academic performance a chance to fill the knowledge gaps and gain additional incentive to learn.

Our methodologists make assignments taking into account the content of the school curriculum and the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard. Each student who is guided in the material of the school curriculum, is able to analyze and draw conclusions can solve tasks.

The assignments for each class consist of 15 different types of questions:

  • Questions with one or more correct answers.
  • Tasks for the correlation of two data series and comparison.
  • Tasks requiring work with illustrative sources.
  • Tasks for solving a problem with an initial data series.

How much does it cost to participate in the physics Olympiad

To participate in the Olympiad, you need to pay the registration fee, the amount of which is indicated on the page with information about the selected event. At the same time, up to 30% are returned to you as compensation for the costs of organizing and holding the Olympiad.

Thus, we reimburse your expenses for printing assignments, certificates and diplomas. The more students participate in the Olympiad, the higher the percentage of compensation. You will find out how we calculate the percentage of compensation after registration.

Teachers who attract a large number of students to participate in the Olympiad receive increased compensation and participate inrating of teachers ... Every month, 3 leaders of the rating receive valuable gifts, and at the end of the six months, we determine the 5 most active organizers of the Olympiads and present them with special awards.

How often do physics Olympiads take place?

We hold Olympiads throughout the academic year. In 9 months we manage to organize 3 All-Russian and 4 International Olympiads.
