Nikolai Alexandrovich and his wife live in the city of Balashov, Saratov region. He served in the army and retired as a senior warrant officer. Now he works part-time at a factory. His wife, Valentina Nikolaevna, is a process technician and worked in factories.

– We spend all our holidays with our son. And this time we were their guests. On the morning of April 23, Sunday, we were at the cemetery with Elena’s dad, our daughter-in-law.

– Did you drink anything at the cemetery?

– No, this is not accepted in our family at all. We don't drink or eat at graves. And we don’t drink at all. For medical reasons, I can't. Roma and Lena are not amateurs either, they work a lot (Roman Shimko serves in the Russian Guard. - Ed.).

– What happened then?

- Around lunchtime we returned home, and I went to see my wife: when we visit them, we always spend the night in another apartment - in a neighboring house (Roman Shimko has several apartments in Zheleznodorozhny - Ed.). At about 17.00 Lena, Alyosha and her mother Galina Alekseevna went out for a walk, and they called me. Roman, Alyosha’s father, behaved and continues to behave very dignified throughout these endless interviews and talk shows. Like a real man and a real officer. The commission wrote in its conclusion that the samples containing biomaterials were no longer suitable for research. So what should we do now? Roman covered up the expert’s name with a piece of paper, but Life, citing the Mash telegram channel, claims that it was a man named Mikhail Kleimenov. According to journalists, he actually did not know about the test results and simply sent the biomaterials to the capital’s clinic, and then signed the documents that were brought to him. The publication does not provide direct quotes from the expert.

Local residents suspected from the very beginning that the culprit of the accident had patrons, and discussed this in the city public on VKontakte: what was happening with the cameras, road signs and the initiation of a criminal case seemed too strange to them. Among the positive traits, it was indicated that the boy was kind, affectionate, non-conflicting, attended kindergarten every day, and his parents were interested in his upbringing and development.

The publication turned to an independent medical expert representing the interests of the child’s father, Roman Shimko, but who wished not to name him. After reviewing the report issued by the kindergarten, he said that everything written in the description fits the description of autism spectrum disorder. That is, the child was actually presented as autistic.

However, a post-mortem examination, which included a description of the structure of the child’s brain, did not reveal any abnormalities. In addition, according to the expert, the parents have videos and photographs that show that the boy at the age of 6 already knew how to ride a two-wheeled bicycle. Thus, one can question both the statement that the child’s spatio-temporal categories are unstable and the entire characteristic.

According to the expert, when the parents requested protocols of the tests and examinations carried out, the kindergarten agreed to redo the conclusion. Some conclusions in the document were changed, but the words talking about developmental delay remained. And the head, Irina Leontyeva, told Roman Shimko that she was allegedly asked to give just such a description from higher organizations, and nothing could be done about it. Moreover, in an interview with RT on June 23, Leontyeva never mentioned the peculiarities of Alyosha Shimko’s development. She gave only positive reviews about the boy and his parents and did not believe that the boy could be drunk.

When the publication tried to contact the preschool institution for details, it turned out that Irina Leontyeva had recently died. And her deputy said that there was no pressure on management when drawing up the characterization.

After this, the boy’s parents tried to take his medical record from the Balashikha hospital so that the diagnosis would not be entered there, but they failed to do this. True, the medical institution told Gazeta.ru that there had been no requests from Shimko’s family to take away the boy’s medical card.

According to the expert, the dubious description could have been drawn up in order to have leverage over the father. It can be applied to existing suspicions about “involving a minor in the systematic use (drinking) of alcohol and alcohol-containing products” (Article 151 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and transferred to the guardianship authorities in order to take away the eldest son from the parents.

Roman Shimko addressed the Investigative Committee with a statement in which he accused the specialists who found alcohol in his son’s blood of abuse of power, falsification of evidence, official forgery and giving deliberately false testimony.

In connection with the incident, two criminal cases are being investigated: about the accident itself (being handled by the police) and about negligence during the examination (being handled by the Investigative Committee). Note that in the second case there is still no suspect.

Alisova herself does not consider herself guilty. “I admit that in the current situation my car caused the death of a person, but I believe that it was an accident,” she said, emphasizing that at the time of the accident she was not talking on the phone, as the investigation claims.

The family will continue to be tormented for not keeping quiet and not wiping themselves off.
