Poker chat. Support Partypoker - all communication options with support of the poker room. Pros and cons of Partypoker support

Online poker not only allows you to get financial returns, but also guarantees an interesting pastime. And one of the reasons for such interest is chat, which is built into almost all poker clients of poker rooms. Naturally, there are certain rules and standards of communication in such a chat, ignoring which may even lead to a ban.

So, the poker chat options are standard almost everywhere: you can open a special window in which players' comments are visible, as well as a field for entering your own phrases. As a rule, it is possible to distinguish between the levels of "chat", i.e. involvement in the process of communication and exchange of information. For example, the dealer's messages are displayed, who informs who won the hand and with what combination, what kind of player entered the chat, who posted the blinds, etc. This option can be disabled, but not everywhere. For example, the author did not find such an opportunity. If you take another network of poker rooms - Ipoker - as an example - you can completely disable all chat features there. You can also choose a level at which you will see the players' responses right at the poker table, but the chat window and the ability to enter comments yourself will be disabled.

Those who are at the same time are usually not very active interlocutors - that's understandable. Therefore, "chatlans" are single table players, or small table players :) This means that they actively follow the process of the game, but at the same time they are often loose players, since it is boring to play at two tables. Use it wisely.

Most poker rooms only allow chatting in English... This is understandable - after all, players in the room can be found from all countries and continents, and English is the international language of communication. If you persist in speaking your language, this is regarded by the management of the room as disrespect for the rest of the table participants. As a sanction may follow. It will also follow if you use foul language in the chat. Player conversations are monitored closely, so don't assume that chat is a place for all kinds of chatter. Practice of the game shows that a lot of players do not communicate in English, French and German are often heard. The author of the article, being Russian, also spoke in his native language in Cyrillic. There was no news from the poker room. So if you do not go overboard, then it is unlikely that something will be done to you in a few phrases in your native language.

By talking in the chat, you can make a certain portrait of a person, including for the exploitation of weaknesses that will help win money from him. For example, if someone is actively crying about "bad luck", then, as a rule, this is a weak player, or overstepped the brink of tilt (everyone has it different - including the "plaintive" one). Such opponents are inclined to switch to passive play - because of "bad luck", which means they will more often fold to your bluff. Just do not confuse it with a monkey tilt, when, on the contrary, the crying player gets angry and starts throwing raises in all directions. If you are bullied, then perhaps they want to drive you into tilt, and not just offend. This will not affect the cool player, but if you are annoyed, turn on the "Ignore the chat partner" option. It is just for such cases invented. You will see the lines of all opponents, except for this one. You can try to exert psychological pressure on your opponents yourself: if you see that a person begins to swim, then the chat can become a tool in your hands. Nothing personal, just poker.

Abbreviations in poker room chat

The chat rooms of poker rooms have their own language of abbreviations, which allows you to exchange information in a short time, so as not to be distracted from the game. Often slang is a set of typical phrases that mainly express emotions and are not very informative. They use phrases based on the first letters, parts of words pronounced as numbers are replaced with these numbers (for - 4, -aight - 8, etc.). It happens that they just use only the first couple of letters of the word.

ty, th, tx - thank you (tyvm - thank you very much).
lol - "rzhu nimagu".
gh, nh, n1, g1 - good hand (used in the sense of "look, lucky to get such a hand").
gg, ng, wp, gp, wd - "played great", well done.
LMAO, ROFL, rotflmao, RAOFLMFAO - the general meaning: "I laugh so hard that it just ATAS." Moreover, the more letters, the more atas.
Zzzzz- "Couldn't it be quick?" Printed when a player thinks for a long time.
WTF - "What the hell?!" (only with obscenities).
OMG - Oh my God!
fu - it's like the first three letters of the Russian swear word for a bad woman.
gtg - Need to go.
str8 - street (combination).
nc - "here's got it!" (surprise at collecting an unlikely combination).
bs - "pancake!" (only much more expressive).

Beginners do not always understand correctly how to use chat when playing online poker. As a result, this can lead to some minor, but still undesirable consequences. I will share my observations.

  1. Poker memes.

In most cases, online play takes place in silence, and only occasionally will one of the players say modestly: “nh”, “n1” or even “vnh”, which means “good hand”, “well played” or “very good hand”, respectively ... Such complements are usually released when the opponent has collected a very strong combination (four of a kind, straight flush) or when he has skillfully pulled all the chips out of the opponent.

Why is this done? If the player has lost a significant part of the stack, then he writes "nh" and thereby shows that he is not offended and not on tilt (as the opponent might want). On the other hand, by writing "n1" the player shows that he understands a lot about good poker and appreciates the art of the winner. Such a player, having finished the game, himself may hear the flattering words "gg" (good [was] a game).

However, there is also a downside to the coin. If a player writes compliments to his opponents too often, then the suspicion arises that he is a beginner: he is amazed at interesting rallies, and indeed, he has seen a small number of hands in his life.

It is quite another matter to write "nh" before the showdown, and then fold effectively. This way you can show your opponent that he has been "read". This approach to business can spoil the winner's joy of victory a little, and cheer up the loser a little.

Even less often (but still happens) the expression "nh" is found in an ironic meaning. Well, for example, your opponent moved all-in with 7 and 2 offsuit, and you called with pocket aces. The flop showed two sevens and an eight, and the turn came a two. How not to praise an opponent for a decent game?

  1. Sincere chatter.

Fortunately, correspondence at the gaming table is not always limited to abbreviations. Sometimes you can talk heart to heart. For example, after a big bet of one of the players on the river, the other folds and tries to find out what the opponent had. If the winner goes for a frank confession, then subsequently the exchange of information (including false information, of course) may become an integral part of the game that cannot be ignored.

  1. Exchange of pleasantries.

In general terms, communication when playing online (apart from its certain scarcity) is in many ways similar to communication at a "live" gaming table. The only fundamental difference: the ability to offend an opponent without risking getting a fist in the eye. Of course, most players are in a hurry to take advantage of this unique opportunity.

In many poker rooms, communication using the Cyrillic alphabet is prohibited, but who will prevent your opponent from writing: “ty debil, ja takih kak ty bju lopatoj po golove” or something else good. If the opponent does not speak Russian, it doesn’t matter either. The word "Idiot" is something everyone knows and understands. You have to be ready for this and not be nervous. A purely technical trick to drive your opponent into tilt, nothing personal. You need to answer politely but condescendingly. You never know ill-mannered creatures.
