Prince Václav (Vyacheslav), descended from the Přemyslid dynasty, was supposedly born in 907. The grandfather of Václav Bořiva, who ruled the country in the second half of the 9th century, was the first Czech prince to accept Christianity. It happened under rather unusual circumstances. In those days, the Czech lands bordered on Great Moravia and, according to some sources, were subordinate to it. The Moravian ruler Svatopluk, already a Christian, invited Borzhivoy to visit. However, the treat for the Czech prince and his squad was not served on the table, but on the floor - like dogs. Borzhivoy's surprise outweighed his anger, and he inquired about the reason for this insult. Svatopluk replied that a Christian prince could not sit at the same table with a pagan. Borzhivoy thought and wanted to learn more about Christianity. And as a result, together with his wife Lyudmila, he was baptized by Equal-to-the-Apostles Methodius, the enlightener of the Slavs, who was at that time in Moravia.

Borzhivoy and Lyudmila did a lot to spread Christianity. They built churches, invited priests from the Slavic countries who conducted services in the Slavic language, and did charity work. Borzhivoy died quite young, at the age of about 35 years. The princely throne went first to the eldest son Spytignev, and after his death - to the youngest, Vratislav (Bratislava), the father of St. Vaclav. Vratislav married Princess Dragomir, who came from a noble family of Stodorans. It is believed that she was a pagan, but it is unlikely that a Christian prince could enter into such a marriage. Rather, Dragomira adopted Christianity formally. Lyudmila, even after the death of her husband, enjoyed great influence and love from her subjects. In fact, she remained the ruler under her son Vratislav, which extremely irritated the power-hungry Dragomir. Especially when you consider that Lyudmila was again involved in the upbringing of her sons - Vaclav and Boleslav.

Vratislav, like his father, died early (according to some reports, he died in 920 in a battle with the Ugrians), and Wenceslas was still too young to rule the country on his own. Dragomira claimed the role of regent. According to some reports, Lyudmila left the reins of government behind herself, according to others, on the contrary, she voluntarily conceded to their daughter-in-law and retired to the Tetin fortress that belonged to her. One way or another, Dragomira sent assassins to Lyudmila. Lyudmila was strangled by her own veil. Subsequently, she was canonized as a holy martyr and is the heavenly patroness of the Czech Republic.

The young Prince Wenceslas grew up in the fortress of Budec, west of Prague, where he was brought up in the spirit of Christianity and prepared to rule the country. His mentor was Presbyter Paul, a disciple of Saint Methodius. Vatslav owned, in addition to his native, Slavic, Latin, Greek and German and in general he was a very educated person for his time. At the time of his accession to the throne in 925, he was only 18 years old. Taking power, Wenceslas said that he wanted to rule in such a way that there would be peace in his country, that judges would judge fairly and that the people would live according to the laws of God. The reign of Prince Wenceslas was a time of significant prosperity for the Czech state. He was distinguished by extraordinary piety, at the same time he ruled the state reasonably, fairly and with all responsibility. He was considered a zealous Christian who freed prisoners, gave alms to the poor, and comforted the sick. The prince, like his pious grandfather and grandmother, took care of the Christian enlightenment of the people, built new churches, decorated those already built. It is known that he redeemed pagan children sold into slavery and raised them in a Christian spirit.

During the time of Prince Vaclav, worship in the country was in two languages, he wanted these two liturgical traditions to coexist in mutual respect, which made him many enemies. The German priests set up envious nobles against the prince, among whom were many pagans. The nobles, in turn, skillfully took advantage of the discontent of brother Boleslav and persuaded him to take the throne, killing Wenceslas.

Boleslav invited Wenceslas to his fortress Stara Boleslav. The occasion was the christening of his newborn son. According to another version, it was a temple feast in honor of Saints Cosmas and Damian, celebrated on September 27th. After the feast, Boleslav attacked Wenceslas with a sword. Prince Wenceslas was stronger, and easily won. Not wanting to kill his own brother, he only pushed him away and wanted to hide in the church. However, at the very gates, two assassins overtook him. One of them pierced the prince with a spear at the moment when he grabbed the door ring (this moment is depicted on one of the options for the coat of arms of the city of Stara Boleslav).

The body of Wenceslas lay for several days in the churchyard without burial, which caused popular indignation. His blood, splashed on the door of the temple, could not be washed off for a long time. Finally, the prince was buried next to the very church where he met his death. Three years later, Boleslav decided to publicly repent of the murder of his brother. The body of Wenceslas was transported to Prague and placed in the Cathedral of St. Vita, in the rotunda, which was built on the orders of Wenceslas himself.

Almost immediately after his death, Prince Vaclav was proclaimed a "martyr" - a martyr, a martyr. This Greek word was used to refer to a person who, with his own shed blood, swore allegiance to Christ.

His life was overshadowed by the fact that Dragomir's mother felt hatred for Christianity, it was she who became the culprit of the death of Vyacheslav's grandmother St. Ludmila. For this, he banished Dragomir forever from his life.

As a ruler, Vyacheslav Czech was remembered for the flourishing of Christian foundations. He not only tried to be a Christian himself, but also in state activity by his decrees he canceled everything that did not correspond to his convictions. For example, he refused the death penalty, considered it unacceptable to use torture. Very many noble dignitaries were dissatisfied with this state of affairs. The believing prince, who lives according to the laws of honor and kindness, seemed objectionable to them, and therefore those close to the court entered into a conspiracy with Vyacheslav's brother Boleslav the First.

In 935, the saint was killed by his own brother and his guards right on the threshold of the temple. In the future, all those who followed Prince Vyacheslav of Czech, who, like him, led a pious lifestyle, were subjected to cruel torture and torment. Nothing is known about the fate of his son Zbraslav.

Despite this, Vyacheslav Lukanin strove to enter a religious school, serving the Lord was his only desire, which eventually came true. The Lord gave him a beautiful voice. This talent did not go unnoticed by the teachers of the school. Very often, the young man served on the kliros in the local church, they even began to call him “senior in the choir,” he did so well. He comprehended other sciences with great difficulty, constantly re-taken exams, and devoted all his free time to church singing. In 1989, after graduating from college, he entered the Perm Seminary. But the state of health prevented me from getting a diploma.

However, the leadership of the seminary leaves him at the educational institution as director of the educational choir. In 1901, his talent was appreciated so highly that he was invited to the bishop's choir. A few years later he met a beautiful girl who became his wife - this is Maria Gordeevna Galkina. Soon their daughter was born. She will not be the only child in the family, a few years later Vyacheslav and Maria had 8 more children, three of them died in infancy.

In 1918 he was appointed director of one of the choirs in the Yekaterinburg diocese. It was here, on the territory of the town of Kataysk, that the Red Eagles punitive units were created, which were supposed to instantly respond to any orders of the godless authorities. Those tortures that they applied to those arrested, perhaps, could compete in cruelty with the torment of the first Christians. The detainees were buried alive in the ground, quartered, mocked in every possible way, humiliating human dignity, forced to drink their own blood. And this despite the fact that the "employees" of such a detachment were sometimes not even 20 years old.

On the eve of the bright feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, the martyr Vyacheslav and some believers of this town gathered to discuss how best to celebrate the festive Liturgy. The meeting was held in the evening in one of the houses, they lit candles, and a small ray became noticeable because of the curtains from the side of the street, where at that time there was a curfew and punishers patrolled the streets. The monsters broke into the house and arrested everyone who was there. In the morning, the believers were taken to the temple and ordered to dig their own graves.

Father Vyacheslav finally asked only to pray in the temple, starting to read the prayer for the dead, he slowly walked towards the temple, at that moment the Krasnoorlovets shot him in the back.
